A Glencairn has always been the gold standard of whiskey tasting glasses.  Buuuut, I have to say, there are parts of the Glen that I am not a huge fan of.  While they are great for whiskey tasting, they always felt a little dainty in hand.

Well, folks, thanks to ADHD Whiskey, I stumbled upon what very well may be the best whiskey tasting glass out there…the Viski!  All the good parts of a whiskey tasting glass with a more modern and rugged design.

Built in measuring.

Great glass with a nice weight in the hand. The lip isn’t as delicate so I’m not worried about shattering it when I dry it. The bottom of the Hold Fast Scroll and the skull beard provide handy reference points when pouring a double as they both indicate almost exactly three ounces.

Solid Choice

I've got a cut glass glencairn, one of the pricey ones, that has a bit more heft to it. If this one matched that it would be five starts all day long. I will say though that this one feels a bit more robust and less prone to breakage. All in all I've enjoyed the break in pour of Russels Reserve Single Barrel Rye and I look forward to using it again. I got the one with the bearded fellow on it and the bottom of his beard offers a handy measuring tool ending up at about 3 oz. That might not be important to everyone but I'm stationed in Okinawa, Japan where .03 DUIs the morning after are a thing so careful monitoring of consumption is very important. I really appreciate a glass that can help with that.
